Our process begins with the assessment of leaders through comprehensive data collection from relevant stakeholders. We then apply assessment results strategically to develop customized solutions that support leaders. Equity Solutions assesses leaders through a 360⁰ assessment process. Leaders complete standardized personality and leadership assessments online to determine personality strengths and challenges, work values, skills and competencies, and preferences.

To support the standardized assessment, data is collected from leaders, their direct reports, and their superiors. Data is collected in numerous forms, including one-on-one interviews, group interviews and/or on-line surveys.

The 360⁰ assessment process concludes with a Career Development Plan (CDP) for each leader. This comprehensive action plan is a culmination of qualitative and quantitative data gleaned during the 360⁰ assessment. It also includes specific developmental items the leader can focus on to enhance leadership effectiveness. For example, the CDP may include recommendations for stretch assignments, mentorships, sponsorships, group coaching, and individual coaching, among others. This action-based plan enables the leader to apply new learnings and behaviors for short- and long-term leadership success.

Through Leadership CalibrationSM Equity Solutions combines succession planning and leadership development to establish a long-term and data-driven process for managing talent across an organization.

Our process involves a proactive approach that identifies the competencies needed to prepare the right people for the right opportunities at the right time. This results in an organizational strategy to develop internal talent and prepare them for future openings. Organizations are then able to discern bench strength for key positions, realign to meet employee capabilities, and implement data-driven succession development that supports organizational goals and strategic objectives.

Equity Solutions has developed Coaching Circles to combine professional coaching with an in-person, group training for managers, directors, and senior leaders. Under the guidance of a coach, the circles provide a group of up to 10 participants the opportunity to channel their personal and professional development efforts, while sharing in a small group setting over a defined period. Coaching Circles increases the impact on the organization while remaining cost-effective.
Other details include:

  • Participants complete standardized personality and leadership assessments. They review their results with a coach and develop a Career Development Plan (CDP).
  • Equity Solutions customizes curricula for the Coaching CirclesSM. The focus of the curricula is on self-management of behaviors that impede effective leadership. Content guides participants on improving their leadership and other deficit areas.
  • Participants then meet as a group in their circle each month for full-day sessions facilitated by a coach over a 6-month period. The Coach assesses all participants at defined periods of time to ensure application of learned concepts and demonstrated performance changes. Superiors are included in this evaluation.
  • The program also includes a dual-mentoring component. As participants are mentored by their coach, they are trained on being a mentor to the next generation of leaders.

Equity Solution’s Executive Coaching services provide an in-depth and individualized program to help executives understand and leverage their leadership strengths, along with mitigating their leadership challenges.

Our coaching program helps executive participants set goals that match their highest potential, create realistic plans to achieve those goals and holds them accountable for accomplishing them within a defined time frame. Leadership training often follows leadership assessment and may include training on topics such as management strategies, conflict management, working with unions, finances and budgeting, emotional intelligence, delegation, and more.

Equity Solution's trainings offer participants the opportunity to enhance proficiencies in a supportive environment with their peers. Trainings include research and data-based curricula that both minimize didactic-style training and maximize experiential learning for adult learners. Content is dynamic and interactive and includes tools that facilitate the transfer of learning back to participants’ respective roles. E-learning, instructor-led and blended learning are available.

Comprehensive organizational assessments are completed that identify appropriate director candidates whose backgrounds and skills align with the board’s needs.

This assessment is also used to develop a leadership pipeline. We onboard members and provide leadership development services to the entire board.
